Short explanation on prepaid calling cards usage. How to call an international phone; Dialing instructions; Types of access numbers ...
Ever wondered how prepaid calling cards work? It would be a good thing first to consider reading the Prepaid International Calling Card History to understand the basics as to WHY they were invented.
Did that already? Good then let's move on to explaining even deeper the steps take to actually connect your call to an international phone when using a calling card.
Let's say you want to call somebody either long distance in the USA or to call friends, family or business partners to an intrenational destination. You'd be a foul to use your regular phone carrier. That's of course if you're not loaded with money. But hey, you wouldn't be seeking advice on this page if you were. The whole purpose of this website is to help you find the best way to call an international or domestic phone.
You'd have to get yourself a prepaid calling card first. For more info on that go to Buy Calling Cards Online,
Now, let's just say you already have a calling card and you want to understand the process. It's very straight foreward:
The moment you buy the prepaid calling card you should be given an access number. You must dial the access number and then wait for a voice prompt to ask you to punch in the PIN (Personal Identification Number). Some prepaid calling cards have pinless dialing. Read more on that at Calling Card Details...
Most of the calling cards on the market will then tell you the balance left on the phone card and then prompt you to dial your destination number. To get more info on dialing your destination number go to International Dialing Instructions...
Your call was alredy picked up by the prepaid calling card company and it is take through a main dashboard. Here the calling card route is established. Basically the company has a series of carriers set in route towards that international destination or domestic one. Depending on how cheap each carrier's rate is to your International Dialing Code and also how good the quality is on that route the best carrier is picked and your call is transfered to them.
Based on the rate per minute some prepaid calling cards should also tell you the amount of minutes available to your destination number according to the balance left on the calling card.
At this point if you give it a few more seconds the call should be ringing on the other side of the world or on the other side of USA and you can enjoy your conversation with your desired party.
I've done some research on the calling cards available on the market and if what I wrote here is interesting you can see the Top long distance phone cards carriers available on the market. You can safely feel free to go to their pages and find the best prepaid international calling card for you. If you don't have the time to search I've taken care of that.
